WRAP UP: THIS YEAR'S SUMMER FEST SERIES

Our Summer Fest Series just keeps getting better every year. In late July, Future Feelings from the label, Rock Juvenil, brought a full band to kick off our concert series on with a lighthearted, funkadelic live show under the palapa upstairs. This powerhouse of Latin American talent including Juan Soto, Thomas Jackson, Fernando Dimare and Dan Solo rocked the crowd and had us tearing up the dance floor.

On August 6th in walks Seattle-based, Night Beats, all hair and denim accompanied all the way from Mexico City by their hosts from Mirador MX. Sound check just about blasted everyone off their chairs, and later that evening they took us on a psychedelic rock trip amongst the smoke and fiery lighting. Surprise guest guitarist, Robert Levon Been, of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club had crowd members in a star-struck grunge rock trance. Click here to view the entire Night Beats Event Recap

Summer Fest Series concluded with a show by Barcelona based dj and producer AWWZ, who made us feel her fresh sounds on the dance floor. She associates her music style as shower music. Shower music is supposed to be what happens in a hotel room when two lovers are between 2 and 4am, it should show sensuality. After her live set, Mexico's bad boys, Dj Dellarge and Dj Erectus took over on the turntables. They switched the music style, and went for beats different than what they usually play, which perfectly fit the atmosphere. They sure had fun with the crowd, and never wanted the night to end. See you all next year!
